Woo-hoo! It’s the summer event we have all been waiting for: the Great Minnesota Get-Together! The gates opened yesterday, and the fair festivities will be going on through Labor Day. Whether it’s your first time at the fair, or your 100th time, there are tons of new stuff to do as well as the old standbys. To celebrate, we’ve compiled a link list of some of our favorite Minnesota State Fair features!
Pro-tip: Start the day off right and beat the crowds by going to the fair early for a delicious breakfast!
This year, there are 50 new foods at the fair! Food writers spent the day yesterday live tweeting and giving their reviews of the goods. If you are a die-hard foodie, new foods are a great way to start your state fair journey! (Apparently, the BlueBarnMN french toast with pop rocks is to die for. Who knew??)

Of course, the fair isn’t all about food. There is also Ye Old Mill, the Eco Building, rodeos, the Crop Art building, the Midway, the Kidway, Sky Ride, live music from top musicians at the Grandstand (and other stages) and all of the animals. All of them!
