Cheers to the weekend! School is back in session, so we all deserve a good one! The weather should be lovely this weekend with sunny skies, even if the days are getting shorter. Summer is fading and the State Fair is sadly over, but there is plenty to do around the Twin Cities! Check out our list below for a few ideas…
Both the Minnesota Orchestra and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra are back with their season opening concerts! The Minnesota Orchestra is joined tonight and tomorrow by six-time Tony award winner Audra McDonald, and will host a champagne toast after the concerts. The SPCO is opening tomorrow night and Sunday featuring Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and is hosting a post-concert celebration at Rice Park. For Taylor Swift fans, this weekend couldn’t get better, as she will perform for 3 nights in a row at the Xcel Center! Click here for ticketing info and schedule.
The Vikings play their first game of the season at San Francisco on Monday! If Monday Night Football isn’t a sure sign of fall, I don’t know what is. Will you make it to the first home game on the 20th?

Speaking of Canterbury Park, it’s the final weekend of live horse racing for the season! This weekend Canterbury Park goers have free admission and enjoy a Food Truck Festival. It’s a great weekend to go!
The Saint Paul Classic Bike Tour features 15, 30, and 45 miles routes through the parks and parkways of Saint Paul. See the sights and try some treats and live music at the rest stops. What a lovely weekend for a ride! Sunday, September 13th. Tickets range from $12-50. Register at St. Thomas at 7:15am.
Last week we featured Wayzata, and this weekend they are holding their annual community celebration, James J. Hill Days! Check out the attractions including the Wayzata Beach Bash featuring country singer, Dierks Bentley tonight and Soul Asylum on Saturday. James J. Hill Days is Sept 11th-13th.
