Whew! This weekend is supposed to be HOT! I feel like we Minnesotans have been a little spoiled so far this summer, but I am still a little sad to have to crank up the air. Hope you find a shady spot, lake, or A/C to live in this weekend! If you are sticking around, here are some fun suggestions around the cities…
Summer Set is an epic music and camping festival in Somer Set Wisconsin. If you love music, you won’t mind the drive, although it will be a little hot this year! Early bird tickets are gone, but you can still get single day tickets for $100, or 3-day pass for $250. Camping fee not included.
The 7th Annual Summer Beer Dabbler probably won’t keep you cool either, but if you love craft beer, it’s a great event to try some new brews! Or compete in the homebrew contest. Cheers! Tickets start at $40. August 15th, 5-9pm at CHS Field. Get a free Metro Transit pass here!
Any trekkies out there? Your mission is to travel through Northeast Minneapolis to explore some of the awesome bars NE has to offer with the Star Trek Bar Crawl. Yup, that’s a thing, and you won’t want to miss it! Saturday, August 15th. Your voyage starts at 4pm at the 1029 bar.
‘Tis the season for block parties! If you are a foodie, you won’t want to miss the Borough Block Party! Sunday August 16th, 12-7pm. Tickets $5 in advance.
The best place to be in a heatwave might be at the movies! Check out a blockbuster and let us know your favorite film of the summer. Pro Tips: The Riverview Theater is always cheap at $2-3 a ticket (cash only). OR bring your kids to the Mall of America on Saturday mornings for their “Free Family Flicks”! They even have a free sensory-friendly screening.
Have you heard what happened to First Ave? How horrible! Sounds like 7th Street Entry and The Depot are back up and running, but no word on how long it will take to fix up the main room.
Stay cool and have a good one!!
