Happy Mother’s Day! This weekend we will be celebrating and remembering our mothers near and far. This is a perfect time to recognize the wonderful women in our lives, and to give appreciation to our mothers! If you are able to spend time with your mother and family in the cities this weekend, we have some ideas for you on how to celebrate!
Start your weekend off right at the Mill City Farmer’s market! The market is opening for the first time this season on Saturday morning, complete with cooking demos, a mini farm, art, and live music by the Roe Family Singers! (We also highly recommend the breakfast burritos and the bedding plants for sale at the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market. Choices, I know!) Saturday, May 9.
The Como Park Zoo & Conservatory is holding their annual Mother’s Day Bonsai Show. Curious or just like to look at beautiful flowers? This is the event for you! Como Park, May 9-10.
Speaking of plants, if you are in the midst of gardening, be sure to check out the Mother’s Day Plant sale at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum! Or wander the grounds with your family. It should be beautiful out this weekend! Plant sale is May 9-10.
Or check out the Friends School Plant Sale this weekend at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds! May 8-10.
Is crafting more your thing? Bring your mom to the St. Paul Craftravaganza! This is an epic market for all handmade goods. Check it out! Minnesota State Fairgrounds, May 9.
Looking for a great Mother’s Day brunch spot on Sunday? With so many great options in the Twin Cities, it’s tough to narrow it done. Try this list for some inspiration! (And be sure to make reservations!)
Shopping at the MOA this Saturday? Stop at the Lindt Lindor Truffle Sampling in the Southeast Court from noon-8pm and treat your mom to some chocolate! (And maybe some for yourself! Mmmmm.) Plus, more free mom swag is happening around the mall! Check it out here.
Whether your mom is into music, plays or art, there are plenty of events going on in this weekend. Be sure to send us a tweet or post on our Facebook wall and tell us how you celebrated Mother’s Day!
