Memorial Day is on Monday, and we are honoring those who have died while serving for our country in the United States Armed Forces. We hope you have a lovely weekend, and enjoy the official start of summer! Here’s a look at what’s going on around the Twin Cities:
Take a visit to the Historic Fort Snelling, opening tomorrow. On Monday, see the special event, Military History Living Timeline, with reenactors performing demonstrations based on different eras. Plus, veterans have free admission on Memorial Day. Fort Snelling is open Memorial Day Weekend-Labor Day, Tue-Sun.
Valley Fair’s Soak City Waterpark is opens May 23rd. Might be a little cold yet, but with the six new water slides and splash pad, it is sure to be a blast!
It’s that time of year for Mini Golfing at the Walker. But it’s not your usual putt-putt course–each hole was designed by a different team of artists. May 21-Sept 7th, Walker Sculpture Garden
The St. Paul Saints have started playing at the new CHS Stadium. This weekend, they are playing the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks. Game day events include fireworks on Friday night, a salute to the builders of CHS field on Saturday, and the Memorial Day celebration game on Sunday, complete with a monster food truck rally, and a fireworks super show. Should be a fun time!
Soundset, one of the biggest hip-hop festivals around is on Sunday. Don’t have your ticket yet? Act fast, it’s nearly sold out. May 24th at Canterbury Park, Shakopee. Gates open 11am
Music in the Parks starts on Monday! Kickoff with Socaholix and Kevin Bowe & the Okemah Prophets. May 25, 5:30pm at the Lake Harriet Bandshell
