The Summit-University neighborhood is located in the central part of St. Paul, Minnesota, just west of Downtown. The neighborhood is bordered by University Avenue to the north, Marion Street and Kellogg Boulevard to the west, Summit and Pleasant Avenues to the south, and Lexington Parkway to the west.

The main public schools serving the neighborhood include Maxfield Elementary (PreK-5), which is located in Summit-University, along with Jackson Elementary (PreK-5), Ramsey Middle School (6-8), and Central Senior High School (9-12). Magnet schools within the neighborhood include: J.J. Hill Montessori Magnet School (PreK-5), Barack and Michelle Obama Elementary (K-5), Capitol Hill Gifted and Talented Magnet School (1-8), and Benjamin E. Mays International Magnet School (PreK-5). I-94 runs through Summit-University, and I-35E runs just east of the neighborhood. These routes provide quick access from Summit-University to other locations in St. Paul and the surrounding areas. Due to it’s close proximity to Downtown St. Paul, residents of Summit-University can commute by car, bicycle, public transportation, or even walking.
