Merriam Park/Lexington-Hamline is a neighborhood in the west side of Saint Paul, west of downtown. The neighborhood is bordered by I-94 and University Avenue to the north, Lexington Parkway to the east, Summit Avenue to the south, and the Mississippi River to the west. Merriam Park/Lexington-Hamline is located between downtown St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis, and consists of two Universities, residential areas, commercial and industrial areas.

Nearby, Aldine Park offers a softball field, basketball court, playgrounds, and a horseshoe pit. On the eastern part of the neighborhood, Hamline and Hauge Park offers a tot-lot, and the Dunning Sports Complex offers amenities for a variety of youth and adult sporting leagues, including softball and baseball fields, batting cages, tennis courts, and a playground. Additional green spaces can be found at St. Thomas and Concordia Universities. The Merriam Park Library is located in the center of the neighborhood, and offers public computers, a meeting room, a book club, small study rooms, a Bungalow Collection of materials focusing on the Arts and Crafts movement, and a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Collection. Restaurants and cafés are found off of Selby and University Avenues, with a variety of options for residents and students. Additionally, the northeast part of the neighborhood between University and St. Anthony Avenues is a commercial area, with several businesses, a clinic, a shopping center with a grocery stores, department stores, restaurants, and a gym.

The main public schools serving the neighborhood include Groveland Park and Hamline Elementary Schools (PreK-5), Ramsey and Murray Middle Schools (6-8), and Central and Como Senior High Schools (9-12). Central Senior High School is located in Merriam Park/Lexington-Hamline as well as one public magnet school, Four Seasons A+ Elementary School (PreK-5).
