The Como neighborhood is located in the University district of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The neighborhood boundaries include Hennepin Avenue and Winter Street to the north, Highway 280 to the north, the Burlington Northern railroad yard to the south and east. Como is just northwest of the University of Minneapolis, and offers residential areas with tree-lined streets, commercial and industrial areas, as well as a mix of local shops, restaurants and cafés.

Many of the popular restaurants and coffee shops are along 15th, Como, and Hennepin Avenues, with a few other scattered within the neighborhood, adding to the community feel. There are also several community gardens in Como; some are rain gardens, while others provide fresh produce to elders, participating gardeners and food pantries. There are also youth gardens at Van Cleve Park and the Tuttle Schoolyard.

The Como Neighborhood lies within the Minneapolis Public School District. The main public schools in the area include Pillsbury Community School (Pre-K-5), Northeast Middle School (6-8), and Edison High School (9-12). There are two schools in Como: Tatanka Academy (K-3), which is a specialized public specialty school, and Heritage Academy Science and Technology (6-12), which is also a public charter school emphasizing a STEM-based curriculum. Additional educational options located nearby the Como neighborhood include public charter, magnet, and private schools.
The Como neighborhood is easily accessed by I-35 and Highway 280, both which run through the neighborhood. Residents of Como commute via car, bicycle, walking or public transportation. There are some Nice Ride stations open seasonally in the Como neighborhood, offering an additional way to commute to the University of Minnesota, downtown Minneapolis, and other nearby neighborhoods.
