Field is located in the Nokomis district of Minneapolis, Minnesota, just four 1/2 miles south of the downtown area of Minneapolis. The neighborhood is bordered by 46th Street E on the north, Chicago Avenue on the east, Minnehaha Creek on the south, and I-35W on the west.

South of the Field neighborhood is Pearl Park and Diamond Lake Park. Pearl Park provides a variety of outdoor sports including a variety of playing fields, sport courts, ice rinks, a playground and wading pool, as well as a recreation center with an indoor gymnasium, rentable meeting rooms, a craft room and kitchen. Diamond Lake is a wetland area, great for birdwatching, snowshoeing, and canoeing. Chicago Avenue, on the eastern border of Field is where residents can find a variety of restaurants, a bakery, a single-screen movie theater, a coffee shop, an animal hospital, banks, and other local or small businesses. Other shops and studios are located throughout the neighborhood.
