The Diamond Lake neighborhood is located within the Nokomis area of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The neighborhood is bounded by 55th Street east on the north, Cedar Avenue on the east, Highway 62 on the south, and I-35W on the west. Diamond Lake is located just Northeast of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the Mall of America, and just a short drive from Downtown Minneapolis.

Solomon Park, located on the southeastern part of the neighborhood is a newer park, and currently a well-kept green space and offers an archery range. Plans are in the works to complete development in the next few years. Lake Nokomis is another fantastic destination within walking distance of Diamond Lake residents, offering features such as sailing, bike and water sport rentals, swimming beaches, playgrounds, playing fields and tennis courts, hockey and ice rinks, Sandcastle which is a restaurant/concessions stand, and a community center with an indoor gymnasium, kitchen, and rentable meeting rooms.

The Minneapolis Public School district serves the neighborhood of Diamond Lake. There are no schools within the Diamond Lake neighborhood, however, the main public schools in the area are Hale Community School (K-4), Field Community School (5-8), and Washburn High School (9-12). Residents of Diamond Lake also can choose between a variety of public charter, magnet, or private schools providing additional educational options.
Diamond Lake is bounded by 3 major highways: I-35w, Highway 62, and Highway 77, making it convenient for residents who wish to commute to other areas in the metropolitan and cities surrounding Minneapolis. Residents can commute by car, bike, or public transportation.
