North Loop is located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the Central district near the downtown area. A nice walk is to take the trails by West River Parkway, across the Plymouth Avenue bridge, and to Boom Island Park which is a great place to walk and view the Minneapolis skyline, play at the playground, or even launch boats for canoeing or kayaking on the river. North Loop is also within close proximity to Downtown West, which is where many of the quintessential downtown shops, restaurants, clubs, and music venues are located.

There is one school within North Loop, the Twin Cities International Elementary school, which is a charter school partnered with Concordia College.
