Continuing with our series, this week our city pick is Lakeville! Lakeville is located 25 miles south of the downtown areas of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Lakeville prides itself on its historic downtown, with boutiques and local businesses for shopping, and a Farmer’s Market that runs throughout the summer months. Aptly named, Lakeville has five beautiful lakes, three with swimming beaches as well as boat launches. There are also 62 public parks with over 1,400 acres of parkland, consisting of athletic fields, playgrounds, nature areas, green spaces and over 100 miles of trails for a variety of year-round outdoor recreation.
Every July, residents of Lakeville come together to celebrate the community with a weeklong festival, known as “Pan-O-Prog” (Panorama of Progress). Starting with 4th of July celebrations and parade, the festivities continue throughout the week with tournaments, pageants, live music, cookouts, entertainment and more. Pan-O-Prog is clearly the highlight of the year for Lakeville citizens! This coming weekend, Lakeville is hosting their annual Lakeville Art Festival on September 19th and 20th at the Lakeville Arts Center. Featuring live music, community art projects, demonstrations, and food and wine tastings, it is a fun fall event for residents.
Lakeville is a great place to live, as Lakeville homes are near lakes, parks, as well as shopping districts including a quintessential historic downtown, and only a short drive from Minneapolis and St. Paul. Here are some charts that highlight Lakeville real estate numbers, including Lakeville homes for sale, pending sales and closed sales.
