If you are like millions of others, you are ecstatic if you discover a reliable home device that saves you time or money–better yet, both! Smart home devices are a rapidly expanding market and with good reason. The convenience of controlling your thermostat, watching your baby, changing your lighting, and setting your alarm from your phone is sublime, especially when you are busy or tired.
But, let’s be honest, searching for the perfect wifi bulb or a baby cam with both an iPhone and Android connected app can be overwhelming. I have found an in-depth article to help you navigate the newest and best devices to make your home as smart as it can be. This CNET article is very thorough and provides a wonderful overview of the latest and greatest devices to make life easier and more fun!
2017 Smart Home Devices Buyer’s Guide
My favorite three picks from the article:
Kuna Light Fixture – I love this product for integrating a camera into an unassuming exterior light fixture. I actually contemplated not including this product publicly to avoid bringing too much awareness to it.
Google Home – I am definitely rooting for the current underdog in this tech race. The Amazon Echo and Dot certainly have a solid gain over Google’s entry, but I have a feeling Google will catch up!
GE Reveal BR30 LED Bulbs – If you have recessed lighting, GE’s LED bulbs may be what you are looking for. It is hard to judge LED bulbs on specs. I recommend buying one of a few different brands first to test the lighting if you want to upgrade your entire home. Be careful when buying online, as GE has recently discontinued some models and pricing may vary for new versus discontinued.
Please share the home devices that you have gained the most time and/or savings with or reach out to me directly to discuss–I’d love to hear it!
